Are You Happy?

Filed under: Horacio — High Advanced Class @ 5:36 pm

There are few definitions about the question you could be asked about suddenly by a friend or some people in the street, so pay attention to them and conclude whether or not you agree with this part of the history.

For ancient greece people, happiness was one of the favorite topics of philosophy. for Aristotle, it was the supreme human motivation and consisted of constantly practicing the principal virtues whereas the philosophers known, as a Cynics believe that happiness was attained by discarding material possessions. One of the most exponents of this theory was Diogenes, who lived in a barrel whit no other earthly belongings than a cape. Another greek thinker, Epicurus, claimed that the ultimate gold in life was to obtain as much pleasure as possible and avoid pain. On the other hand, the Stoics saw happiness as accepting destiniy, eliminating passions and achieving peace of mind. Taoists believed that being respectful of nature’s laws, humans would enjoy good luck, acting spontaneously and trusting their own intuition.

I think that there are no miraculos formula for getting happiness, since, rather than end goal, it is a path filled with adventure, involving and ongoing search that inside ourselves. So, be happy and tray to smile all the time…….
